good living

June 1, 2009

i’m back from the most fabulous vacation in Roatan, Honduras:

Roatan2009 254

of course, no great vacation can come to a close without incident.  while i still do not have a grasp on how to determine the levels of real danger once given word of a tsunami warning, i am confident we did the right thing by heading for higher ground.  somehow, somewhere, the spirited earthquake and tsunami evacauation was the perfect ending to the calmest, most peaceful, celebratory, beautiful vacation spent with friends i will carry on throughout a lifetime.   this great experience brought us together, clarified life’s most important moments, and gifted us with the most graceful sunrise i’ve ever witnessed.

in the words of one of my favorite world travelers “next time, we shall wear snorkel gear to bed each night.”

i am already looking forward to going back.

here’s to Roatan 2010.
